There are many alternative ways in which people can choose to travel that benefit their health and the environment.
Reigate and Banstead Cycling Forum continues to improve cycling routes and facilities and organises cycle rides and training in the borough.
The Tuesday Evening rides 2010 have now started and will continue until Tuesday 16th September.
“Meeting at Earlswood Lakes Car Park, 7.30 pm every Tuesday night, we set off to explore the local countryside and search out a pub for a “swift half”, before returning to Earlswood Lakes . The average length ride tends to approach 10 – 15 miles, and speed is adjusted to suit the participants. We aim to be back in the local area by 9.30 pm. Venue is usually decided on the evening, so if you have a favourite haunt come along and lead us there. Join us, and experience the friendly atmosphere of cycling in a small group and visiting the local village pubs”.
A reminder that it is still turning dark reasonably early so please make sure you are equipped with a working set of lights and we would also recommend some reflective clothing.
These rides are suitable for any type of bike. It is your responsibility to ensure that your bike is in a road-worthy condition and that you are carrying necessary equipment to repair a puncture.
